The globe is in ruins, the glory of civilization long gone. People are not yet extinct, and the afterglow of the sun still shines across the globe. A surviving scavenger walks through the wilds of his lost country, longing for the long future. He looks forward to finding a place to live before there is scarcity here, a future to build with both hands, a monument to be created on the ashes of the last days.
